Bayway / Shattered Realm / Death Before dishonor to hit Raleigh, NC
Here it comes folks, a massive hardcore show on the 25th of January at Kings in Raleigh, NC. This show is going to be a monster as Bayway brings their fury to the stage. But it gets crazier as they are bringing heavy hitters Shattered Realm and Death Before Dishonor. Then they add the local twist, and we love our local NCHC bands, Owe You Nothing and Twisted Fate. This show has it all, OGs and heavies all the way to local rippers.
TL;DR - Here’s what to expect.
Representing Elizabeth, New Jersey, Bayway is the raw, no-frills sound of the streets. They bridge the gap between 90s NJHC heavyweights like E-Town Concrete and Fury of Five, blending knuckledragging beatdown with legitimate hip-hop flows. Jayway’s vocals are as authentic as it gets, touching on real-world struggle and survival. It’s bouncy, it’s aggressive, and it’s got that "World of Bayway" grit that’s breathing new life into the scene.
Straight out of Asbury Park, Shattered Realm has been the gold standard for heavy, metallic hardcore since 2000. These NJ legends don’t do "soft." Expect punishing, death-metal-influenced riffs and the kind of crushing breakdowns that define the "Broken Ties... Spoken Lies" era. With Big Chris back on the mic, they bring that menacing, dark energy that makes the pit a certified danger zone. If you aren’t ready for some of the heaviest beatdown in the game, stay on the wall.
Boston’s finest, DBD, has been holding it down for 25 years with a "Friends Family Forever" mindset. They bring that classic BCHC blue-collar grit—fast, aggressive, and unapologetic. Bryan Harris and the crew specialize in a "back to basics" assault that fuses old-school speed with massive, mosh-ready metallic grooves. Their set is always a masterclass in loyalty and heart, so be ready to scream along to every anthem. It’s high-intensity, high-stakes hardcore that never lets up.
Owe You Nothing is pure Raleigh heavy hardcore. This crew is relatively new to the scene but carries a veteran pedigree, featuring members from Fading Signal, Eyez Wide Shut, and other NCHC staples. They just dropped their demo earlier this month at The Pinhook, bringing a sound that is thick, aggressive, and built for the local pit. They aren't just an "opener"—they're the hometown representation showing exactly why the 919 is a force in modern hardcore.
Twisted Fate is another local Raleigh powerhouse. They’ve been putting in work across the North Carolina circuit, from Fayetteville to Durham, and are becoming a fixture at venues like Kings and Seven Horsemen. They bring a metallic edge to the bill that fits perfectly between the NJ beatdown of Shattered Realm and the gritty BCHC style of DBD. When they hit the stage on the 25th, expect the energy to be high as the local crowd shows out for their own.
